Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup is available from January 2019
Woodford Reserve have released an Old Fashioned cocktail syrup, which is now available to the UK trade. The syrup was created in consultation with a group of bartenders, and has been formulated to compliment Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select’s flavour profile, whilst simultaneously improving speed and consistency of service.
Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup contains “bitters, sugars, and botanical extracts”, and is intended to replace those individual ingredients when making an Old Fashioned. The perfect serve is described as “…simply pour 50ml of Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select Bourbon into your favourite glass; add 10ml of Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup; stir with ice for 10 seconds and garnish with an orange zest.”
Giorgio Bargiani of The Connaught Bar hosted a consultation workshop. He comments: “It has been inspiring to see such a respected brand wanting to work so closely with bartenders for this type of project. It was fantastic to share my insights on what my customers want from a cocktail such as the Old Fashioned.”
Bartenders will receive a free 500ml bottle of the Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup when purchasing Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select from Carlsberg, Amathus, Coors, and Hills Prospect.
