Rum category grew by more than 40% worldwide from 2000 to 2010, according to WIRSPA findings
West Indies Rum and Spirits Producers’ Association (WIRSPA) this week published an interesting document titled ‘Decade of Rum’, which employs, among other sources, IWSR (International Wine & Spirit Research) data to compare the sector’s performance against other spirits.
In addition to the facts and figures, the overview includes insights and opinions from some of the world’s leading spirits experts, analysts and journalists.
Towards the end of the report, WIRSPA provide their view of the global rum market, which includes a section on ‘the importance of the bartender’ and predictions for the future of the rum category, which make for rosy reading if you are a rum fan.
