Online entries open until November 23rd
The Finalndia Vodka Cup is now in its 14th year, which by our reckoning makes it one of the longest-running global cocktail competitions in the World.
This year, Finlandia are embracing the digital revolution and have opted to make the Vodka Cup a global online competition, instead of holding regional and national qualifying heats. Your customers will also be able to vote for your drink and earn you bonus points which go towards your overall qualifying score.
How it works
To enter the Finlandia Vodka Cup, you need to submit a long drink recipe (unlimited ingredients) via www.Finlandia.com before November 23rd – Have your camera ready as a photo of your cocktail is also required.
These submissions will be judged by a panel of experts and scored accordingly. Once the submission deadline has passed, the consumer voting period begins and you will be able to direct your customers to your cocktail on the Finlandia website.
National winners will be announced on December 9th, and consumer choice winners announced on December 29th.
The Final
The Finlandia Cup Global Final takes place in Finland over January 31 – February 1st.
You will need to create your long drink, as well as bust out a mystery box cocktail and an aperitif over the two days. These will be judged by another panel of experts, and the results announced on February 1st.
The prize
There are several categories up for grabs, each with a cash prize. However, nail the comp overall and your pocket will be heavier to the tune of $25,000 which has to be one of the biggest cocktail competition prizes around.
You will of course also bag a trip to Finland, and speaking to some of last year’s competitors, it is an epic one.
