Win a Trip to Mexico with Herradura

Herradura have launched their first ever nationwide cocktail competition with the winner jetting off to Mexico to visit Tequila Town and Casa Herradura.

BarLifeUK have been lucky enough to go to Mexico a couple of times and it is one of our favourite countries in the world. The contrast between the old and new, the food, the friendly locals, the stunning landscape and of course the Tequila make it a truly wonderful place to spend time.

Who wouldn't want to visit this distillery?
Who wouldn’t want to visit this distillery?

So as soon as we heard Herradura were going to be running a competition that would give someone the chance to experience it, we had to be involved. On top of all of that you will be hosted by one of the area’s most loved and respected Tequila houses, what a prize.

Know What You’re Made Of

Herradura is made with the finest blue agave, natural fermentation and an attention to detail passed on through nearly 150 years of family secrets. It really is Made of Mexico.

Now they want to find out what you are made of. You are tasked with creating a cocktail that celebrates both the heritage of Herradura Tequila as well as your own personal history.

There are of course a few rules:
– The cocktail must contain a minimum of 35ml of Herradura Plata, Reposado or Anejo
– The cocktail must contain a maximum of 5 ingredients (1 of which can be homemade)
– Your entry must include a description of how you will present the drink
– You’ll also be asked to write a small paragraph on how the drink represents your own story – what you are made of

Once all the entries have been received the Herradura team will prepare each cocktail and taste them blind. From there the contestants for each heat around the country will be selected. Each heat winner will be invited to London for the final where the winner will be selected.

The heats will be taking place:
London
Manchester
Brighton
Birmingham
Edinburgh

The judges will base the scoring on the cocktail itself (75%) and the personal story (25%).

So if you fancy walking the agave fields with the Jimadores, visiting the Herradura distillery and sipping Tommy’s Margaritas in Tequila Town get your entry in now.

Entries close at Midnight on August 10th (full terms and conditions below)
