In November Fred Noe is visiting the UK as Kentucky’s famous Stillhouse bar is replicated in The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, London.
To mark this occasion Jim Beam are launching Noe Your Bourbon a competition to find the UK’s best Bourbon bartenders.
The winner will be heading over to Kentucky next year to visit the Jim Beam distillery, the original Stillhouse and everything this historic area of the US has to offer. Not only that but the winner and a plus one will have the chance to meet Fred Noe at an exclusive Thanksgiving lunch at the Stillhouse in November where their cocktail will be served.
The competition will be focusing on not just your ability to produce a cracking Jim Beam cocktail but also your knowledge of the Bourbon and American Whiskey category.
To enter Jim Beam are asking you to create a cocktail using Jim Beam White which contains a maximum of 6 ingredients with a maximum of 1 homemade ingredient, you must also use a minimum of 35ml of Jim Beam White. There is also a quick test to assess your Bourbon and Jim Beam knowledge (a little hint for you – Wikipedia isn’t always wrong!).
The top 9 will then be picked to compete at the final in London. The final will consist of a quiz to test their Bourbon knowledge as well as the opportunity to make your signature cocktail to a specially selected Bourbon judging panel and a fun mystery box challenge.
This is a superb competition with an exceptional prize and a real opportunity to be seen as one of the UK’s top Bourbon bartenders.
Entry is open to all UK bartenders over the age of 18 so get involved.
One more tip for you before we unleash the quiz on you. The winning drinks will be served to 50 people at the Thanksgiving lunch so bear that in mind when you come up with your cocktail.
