Win a Trip to Jerez with the Harveys Remix Competition

Three bartenders will be heading to Jerez to see the home of Harveys and battle it out for a cash prize.

Barely a cocktail competition goes by these days where sherry doesn’t appear in a drink or three and for the second year running Harveys are holding a competition to bring this trendy ingredient to the forefront of the drinks.Harveys-pic

This year Harveys have  launched the Remix Competition (following on from last years Cobbler Challenge) with the aim of taking sherry cocktails to the next level. They are asking bartenders to create a sherry cocktail that is contemporary and encourages today’s UK customer to discover sherry in a new way.

The drinks will be judged by an expert panel headed by Mixxit’s Amanda Humphrey leading to the announcement of the semi-finalists. These semi-finalists will receive an in-bar visit from one of the Mixxit team or a Maxxium UK business development manager to try the cocktail.

To enter you will be required to come up with a cocktail containing at least 50ml of one of the Harveys range  Harveys Fino, Signature by Harveys, Harveys Amontillado Sherry and Harveys Bristol Cream in addition to the Very Old Rare Sherry range (VORS), including Fine Old Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Rick Old Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez.

The cocktail can also contain up to 2 homemade ingredients as well as other fortified wines and spirits but Harveys must be the main ingredient. Alongside the cocktail specs you will be expected to include the inspiration for your cocktail and why you feel consumers would be inspired to order it.

Whilst in Jerez the three finalists will be treated to a guided tour of the stunning vineyards and bodegas, hosted by Harveys Brand Ambassador Maria Eugenia Herrera. There will also be plenty of opportunity to try lots of delicious sherry and great local food before they compete for the cash prize. The trip will be happening from 30th September to 2nd October.

Entry deadline is August 3rd so get your sherry head on and get involved below:
