The Gin Mare Mediterranean Inspirations Competition is back and is giving 5 bartenders a trip to Ibiza for the UK final.
This is without a doubt one of our favourite competitions of the year. Not only do we get to travel the country trying some fantastic drinks in the heats but then we get to spend a few days in Ibiza with a bunch of great people.
Once again this year we will spend the summer traveling around the UK for 5 heats with the winner of each heat booking themselves a trip to Ibiza for the UK final at the end of August.
Whilst in Ibiza you will get to relax next to an infinity pool, drink your body weight in Gin Mare & Tonics, see one of the islands famous mega clubs (from the swanky surroundings of a VIP area), visit the islands great cocktail bars and a few other surprises (see what the last two years worth of finalists got up to here and here).
For the winner of the UK final the trip is extended as you take on competitors from around the world in the Global Final.
Entry Requirements
So how do you get yourself on this amazing journey? Simply get yourself inspired and get yourself in the Mediterranean spirit.
You will be asked to create two unique Gin Mare cocktails. The first is a twist on the bartenders version of a hug from your mum, the Red Snapper. The second allows your creative juices to run wild as you are charged with creating an original drink inspired by the Mediterranean.
Each drink has to contain a minimum of 30mls of Gin Mare and that is your only restriction. Homemade ingredients are good to go, no ingredient number limits, garnish it with whatever you like. Simply make them taste good, be inspired by the Mediterranean and of course let the Gin Mare shine.
Enter your drinks into the form below ASAP to get yourself involved. All of the entries will be paper judged by BarLifeUK and Gin Mare with the final 15 in each heat being invited along to create your drinks for the judging panel.
The heats will be in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and London (2) between April and July.
Next up we have Manchester on 28th May with a deadline of midnight on the 20th May. Followed by Bristol on 24th June with a deadline of 13th June. Finally London Heat 2 on 29th July with a deadline 18th July. Other dates and deadlines to follow.
