Four Pillars Gin are launching their inaugural cocktail competition with a trip to Australia not for one, but two UK bartenders.Four-Pillars-Gin_G&T

The Four Pillars Australian (Gin) Open is now live and inviting bartenders from across the UK to enter into one of the four heats. A final will take place at Imbibe Live (along with other awesome surprises for the final 8) and the top two will be heading to Australia to make gin at the Four Pillars distillery as well as visiting some of Melbourne & Sydney’s top bars.

What you need to do:

To be in the running to win this supreme prize Four Pillars are asking you to create two cocktails that celebrate their award winning gin. One serve will be made using their signature Rare Dry Gin and the other using EITHER of their bartender-focused gins, Navy Strength Gin or Spiced Negroni Gin. You will need to give the cocktail name, specs and the story behind the drink.

Drink Guidelines

  • Minimum of 35ml Four Pillars Gin in each drink
  • Maximum of six ingredients (excluding garnish)
  • Homemade ingredients allowed (no limit)

Judging Criteria

  • Taste and balance: 40 marks
  • Judge and audience interaction: 40 marks
  • Presentation and bar etiquette: 20 marks

There will be four heats taking place in May – London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Bristol – with the top two from each heat heading to London (all expenses paid) for a two day final, with a consumer and trade element, in July.

Four Pillars do not, it appears, do things by half. Not just content with the trip to Australia they are also giving the final eight a private shopping and drink event totalling £500 of awesome prize value per person. Plus each of the eight will receive a Four Pillars branded barrel for their bar.
