Win a Bottle of Seven Crofts – Dry Gin From The Highlands

Competition entry deadline: Midnight, Friday 22nd November, 2019

Despite having been fortunate enough to travel the world a fair amount, I’ve yet to see a place more beautiful than the Highlands of Scotland (although parts of New Zealand come close). Ullapool, home to the Highland Liquor Company which produces Seven Crofts gin, boasts peak Highland beauty, in that it has both rugged mountain and sea loch views. It’s the sort of place that, once visited, causes city dwellers to question their lifestyle choices.

Seven Crofts gin is named for seven of the homesteads that formed the original Ullapool settlement in 1791. The name also represents the seven botanicals used to make the gin: juniper, coriander, pink peppercorns, cubebs, cardamom, angelica, and fresh lemon peel.

If you haven’t tried Seven Crofts, you can find it in a growing number of very credible joints, including The Savoy, Nauticus, and FAM Bar in London, the latter serving it in their delicious-sounding Happy Street cocktail:

50ml Seven Crofts Gin
50ml CBD Matcha green tea
15ml Bermondsey Street Bees Custom House raw honey + fresh peach syrup
2.5ml Fresh lemon juice

Robert Hicks, one of Highland Liquor Company’s founders, has very kindly set aside two bottles of Seven Crofts Dry Gin for BarLifeUK readers. To be in with a chance of winning one, complete the form below to enter the prize draw.

While researching this story I learned about Ullapool’s music festival Loopallu, which sounds amazing and actually made me think ‘I’d like to go to that’, which is remarkable given I’m now old and grumpy and generally hate the idea of music festivals. You can learn about Loopallu festival here.
