Leading Irish Whiskey producer Walsh Whiskey have announced Berry Bros. & Rudd Brands as its exclusive distributor in the UK.
Walsh Whiskey, producers of Writers’ Tears and The Irishman, was established in 1999 by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh. Its exclusively premium and super-premium, triple-distilled, craft Irish whiskeys are made using the finest single pot still and single malt whiskeys. Most notably of all, Walsh Whiskey is the only house that blends these two premium whiskey styles, in different ways, offering truly unique taste experiences.
They will be joining a portfolio including No. 3 Gin, The Glenrothes, The King’s Ginger, Berry Bros. % Rudd Own Selection spirits and vermouths produced by Spanish producer Bodegas Lustau.
If you haven’t had the chance to taste their creations yet, then you are in for a treat. The expressions we have tried have all been delicious, yet each brand has its own unique character:
The Writers’ Tears Range
First created by Bernard Walsh in 2009, Writers’ Tears comprises a range of six expressions of super-premium, triple-distilled Irish whiskeys, with an emphasis on Pot Still Irish whiskey. The range includes three core (Copper Pot, Double Oak & Red Head) and three limited-edition expressions. Two of the limited-edition expressions in the range are under the Writers’ Tears Copper Pot line and feature rare cask finishes – Marsala and Mizunara. The third limited-edition expression is a Cask Strength vintage, produced annually.
The Irishman Range
First created by Bernard Walsh in 2007, The Irishman comprises a range of six expressions of super-premium, triple-distilled Irish whiskeys, with an emphasis on Single Malt. The range includes three core (Founder’s Reserve, Single Malt & 12 Year Old Single Malt) and five limited-edition expressions. Three of the limited-edition expressions in the range are under The Irishman Founder’s Reserve line and feature rare cask finishes – Marsala, Caribbean Rum and Sherry. There are also two limited-edition expressions produced annually – a Cask Strength vintage and a 17 Year Old Single Malt Single Cask, finished in Oloroso Sherry at cask strength.
