Leon Back is taking his Bacardi Legacy 2018 cocktail, the Queen Street, on the road over the coming weeks.
One of the great things about Bacardi Legacy is the opportunities it provides the finalists to travel the globe and work in some of the finest bars. It is all part of the marketing push the finalists partake in before the global finals, this year in Mexico.
So Leon is packing up his tartan suitcase, improving his air miles quota and spending far to many hours in airport Wetherspoons deciding between a Guinness and Bloody Mary. Leon will be shaking his way across Europe and the Nordic’s after kicking off in Singapore last night.
Kicking off the tour in 28 Hong Kong Street is the way to do it. Leon was joined behind the bar by 28 HKS bar captain Charmaine Ann Thio who he met whilst taking part in the Tales of the Cocktail CAPS programme. Singapore’s multi award winning bar is on the bucket list of a lot of bartenders so to be making and serving Queen Street’s there was an amazing start.
The rest of the tour looks like this:
- 1105 & Nimb, Copenhagen
- Brugata Landshandleri, Oslo
- Haymarket, Stockholm
- Liberty or Death, Helsinki
- Two Smucks, Barcelona
- Little Red Door & Bonehime, Paris
- Flying Dutchman, Amsterdam
As well as the places Bacardi Legacy enables its finalists to go it also enables them to meet fellow bartenders from around the world. Leon is embracing this by hooking up with fellow finalists from the Northern European Finals, Carl Marcus from Sweden, Carl Wiman from Norway and Henri Halonen from Sweden.
So if you are based in or visiting any of these cities in the coming weeks why not pop in and say hi to Leon. The Queen Street really is an amazing drink and it’s well worth getting the smiling Scot himself to make it for you, a great night out guaranteed.
More news on Leon’s adventures to come.
