Win yourself and your cocktail a starring role at the Venice International Film Festival
It’s probably fair to say that bartenders, as a rule, are not shy, retiring flowers.
Indeed, some would argue that they generally enjoy the limelight and love being the center of attention (JJ Goodman, we are looking squarely at you).
That said, the Disaronno Mixing Star competition, now in its third year, is pretty well judged.
The comp will be hosting a series of castings in cities across the UK, where entrants will be asked to create a movie-inspired signature cocktail as well as serving a twist on the Disaronno Sour.
New to this year’s competition, bartenders will also have the opportunity to take part in an acting class, teaching them how to capture a customers’ attention during a fun and truly unique experience.
Successful UK bartenders will then be invited to participate in the second stage of the competition, where live castings will take place in the theatres of Manchester, Edinburgh and London.
During casting sessions the aspiring Mixing Stars will showcase their ability to a panel of industry experts.
The global final will be held in movie set-themed surroundings in one of the international bartending capitals (TBC) where the top three bartenders from the UK will join fellow finalists from 14 European countries.
The finalists will go head to head, creating their signature serve with only one being awarded the Disaronno Mixing Star title.
The Disaronno Mixing Star ultimate winner will win a VIP package to the Venice International Film Festival to showcase their cocktail for celebrities on the red carpet in an unforgettable seven day trip, as well as being featured in the Disaronno Hall of Fame 2013.
