Signal Hill Canadian Whisky Joins Cask Liquid Marketing Portfolio

Founded in 2014, Signal Hill is a Canadian whisky named after a peak upon which fires were set to send messages between villages – not unlike the Beacons of Gondor in Lord of The Rings.

The whisky is made from column-distilled corn and copper pot-distilled malted barley. The two spirits are also aged independently for 3-5 years in three different barrel types – Canadian whisky casks; American white oak casks; first run Bourbon casks – before being blended and non-chill filtered.

The resulting blend is described as: “a beautifully balanced and full flavoured whisky with a deep, rich amber colour. An initially sweet flavour is followed by bittersweet cacao with subtle leather and pipe tobacco. This develops into dry plums, raisins, and cream sherry, finishing on heavily steeped tea tannins and mild oak.”

As of April 2019, Signal Hill will be available to the UK trade courtesy of Cask Liquid Marketing. Stuart Ekins, Director at Cask, says: “Signal Hill is an expertly produced whisky which brings an exciting new option to the on-trade and consumers, we look forward to sharing it with a wider audience.”
