In his session you will have five different styles of Martinez, all with historical provenance. All the cocktails will be tasted blind and you’ll be able to vote for your favourite in an attempt to answer the question of what is a Martinez?

2:00 – 3:00 The Two Faces of Agricole Rhum

4:00 – 5:00 From Tree to Barrel

To understand aged spirits you have to understand the wood they are aged in.

Alban Petiteaux was Oakmaster at one of the world’s most prestigious cooperage brands for 8 years before setting up Oenowood International. His presentation explains how the best oakwood is grown, selected, sourced, aged, coopered, toasted, and matched to wine and spirits.

Described as ‘a fascinating and enlightening presentation’ by gaz Regan.

Wednesday 19th September

12:00 – 1:00 30 Cocktails that Changed the World

Join award-winning drinks historians Jared Brown & Anistatia Miller as explore the history of mixed drinks and cocktails as it developed over five major periods from the 1500s through 2000s.

This session will stimulate your creative juices and inspire you to explore the cocktail’s remarkable history in a new light in the bar and at home. (You’ll even bring home a few new recipes!)

4pm – 5pm Exclusive Tasting of Appleton 50 Year Old Jamaican Rum

In 1962 just before Jamaica received its independence, several barrels of rums from the Appleton Estate were set aside to age with the edict that these rums were to be used to create a very special blend of 50 Year Old Rum that would celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence.

Only 30 bottles will be available in the UK so this is quite possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to taste what is believed to be the oldest rum for sale in the world. Jamie MacDonald will be leading the tasting session and letting you know all about this extraordinary product.

Sounds good doesn’t it. Don’t miss out on the show, register right here for your free ticket.
