World Class Community Day: 1-5pm, 19th October 2022 – TT Liquor, 17B Kingsland Road, London, E2 8AA
BarLifeUK spent an afternoon at Diageo’s new HQ in Carnaby Street a couple of weeks ago, and can report that: A – the offices are amazing and look like something out of a Netflix tech startup show; and B – some big World Class Competition announcements are just around the corner.
The main reason for that trip to Diageo HQ was to record a podcast about World Class, and that episode will be going live next week. Without giving away the details, we can say that community is going to be a big part of the World Class competition going forward, and to that end Jo Last, Pippa Guy, and the rest of the World Class team are holding a community day as part of London Cocktail Week.
Taking place at TT Liquor in Shoreditch, the event is all about reconnecting with industry friends, doing a spot of learning, having a few drinks, and generally having a lovely, community-focussed, day. During these proceedings, the team will also announce the launch of the next iteration of the World Class competition and describe the year of exciting challenges ahead for everyone who enters.
The full Community Day programme is as follows:
“Spend a day with the team from World Class! The day will start with a panel discussion focusing well-being, work / life balance & career progression, followed by the launch of the World Class GB cocktail competition 2023 and the chance to network with your World Class community over a Tanqueray NO.10 martini and pizza’s!
- 1pm : Welcome drinks, Seedlip Garibaldi’s
- 1.30pm – 2.30pm : Join Healthy Hospo’s Tim Etherington Judge, Jenna Ba, and alcohol-free spirits Ambassador Christie Knight for an inspiring panel discussion. – These passionate individuals will discuss everything from well-being, how to achieve a better work / life balance to navigating career progression and how to access supportive resources available to the hospitality industry.
- 2.30pm – 3pm : World Class competition announcement – The World Class GB cocktail competition is back! Sit back and sip on a Tanqueray No Ten Martini whilst we uncover what’s next for the upcoming year of challenges for World Class GB and how you get yourself involved.
- 3pm-5pm : World Class Martini Hour – Meet and network with other members of the World Class community, previous competitors, brand ambassadors and industry faces whilst enjoying a martini, music & pizza on us!
