Northern Bartender of the Year 2011 Finalists Announced

The cream of the Northern crop in BarLife Show final

Amber Lounge's Jamie Jones

After tasting 40 cocktails at 4 competitions over 2 days in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Chester, BarLifeUK can announce that 8 bartenders will be competing for the title of Northern Bartender of the Year on March 1st.

The regional heats produced some stunning drinks; using at least 30ml of the sponsor brand, Jameson Irish Whiskey, competitors were given free reign, and the results ranged from simple, Martini-style cocktails to intricate molecular creations.

BarLifeUK and Jameson would like to thank the staff at Mojo (Leeds), Walrus (Manchester), Upstairs at the Grill (Chester) and Aloha (Liverpool) for hosting the regional heats and showing us such a great time.

We would also like to thank everyone who entered – it was obvious that loads of thought and effort had been put into the drinks, and in many cases bartenders travelled a long way to be involved.
