Nc’nean whisky internship for women: application deadline 14:00 18th March 2022
Nc’nean (pronounced ‘Nc-nee-an’), makers of the eponymous organic single malt Scotch whisky, are a distilling company that cares about doing things the right way. The distillery has verified net zero carbon emission status (from their own operations), and uses 100% organic ingredients, renewable energy, and recycled clear glass for their whisky bottles.
Sustainability credentials thus established, Nc’nean also care about inclusivity, and to that end will be running a week-long internship with the aim of encouraging more women to consider careers in the whisky industry this Spring. The programme will give two women the chance to experience all aspects of a working distillery, from fermentation to distillation, as well as foraging, bartending, and blending. The candidates will also have further access to marketing and sales mentorship after their week at the distillery if they are keen to understand more of that side of the business.
One of the internship positions has been filled through the company’s ‘gender diversity in distilling partnership’ with Whisky Auctioneer and Heriot Watt University, but one place remains available to anyone who identifies as female, over the age of 18. Candidates also need a valid UK driver’s Licence. The internship is unpaid, but accommodation on the beautiful and wild Morvern peninsula will be provided for the entire week.
If you would like to apply for the internship, or know someone who would be interested, further details and application can be found on the Nc’nean website.
And while we have you, Nc’nean are currently running a fantastic cocktail competition with a really great prize. You can find out about that, and enter, here.
