Music Venue Trust + National Lottery ‘Revive Live’ 2022 January Lineup Announced

Story updated with tour lineup details on 30th November, 2021.

The second leg of the Revive Live tour will begin in January 2022, with artists and venues to be announced shortly

Earlier this year the Music Venue Trust (MVT), a charity dedicated to the preservation of grass-roots live music venues, partnered with the National Lottery to set up tour of live shows throughout England, Scotland, and Wales, with all of the artists’ touring and production costs underwritten by the Lottery fund. Additionally, anyone who bought a ticket to one of the shows could bring a friend along for free, just by showing they had at some staged played the National Lottery.

This arrangement saw 278 gigs played in 138 grass-roots music venues, for an audience of over 70,000 fans, 37,000 of whom went for free thanks to the ‘bring a friend’ tickets scheme. In addition to providing a great night out for a ton of people who really needed it after *everything we’ve been through*, the tour also provided revenue for venues and performing artists who had seen very little, if any, for over a year.

Happily, the Revive Live tour has been renewed for 2022, and will kick off again in January. Mark Dayvd, CEO of Music Venue Trust said: “The overwhelming success of The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour in the summer meant that it wasn’t a difficult decision to push forward with another set of shows in partnership with our friends at The National Lottery. By choosing January, a traditionally quiet time of year for live music, to launch a second phase of the tour, we hope to start the new year with a bang and to create some positive momentum in 2022 for the grassroots music sector.”
