Matteo Zed Releases New Guide to Italian Amaro – ‘Il Grande Libro Dell’Amaro Italiano’

Il Grande Libro Dell’Amaro Italiano is currently available in Italian, with an English translation to follow

Matteo Zed, one of Italy’s most prominent bartenders (and a thoroughly nice chap to boot), has just released a new book dedicated to Italian amaro. Il Grande Libro Dell’Amaro Italiano provides a complete examination of the category, looking at botanical ingredients, production methods, amaro sub-categories, usage, and of course, cocktails.

The book is the result of many years of exploration and study, much of which has taken place at Matteo’s amaro bar ‘Il Marchese’ in Rome. The book is currently only available in Italian, but an English language version will follow. As such, BarLifeUK can’t provide a full book review, but we can say that Matteo in an incredibly knowledgeable bartender with a genuine passion for this subject, so we are sure Il Grande Libro Dell’Amaro will be both an entertaining and educational read

An Italian language version for Kindle can be purchased from the UK Amazon store.
The hard cover print version can be purchased from the Italian Amazon store.

We will update this story once the English language version of Il Grande Libro Dell’Amaro is available.
