Vodka brand Ketel One have announced the launch of a range of 30% ABV spirits distilled with botanicals and infused with fruit essences.
Designed for use in spritz-style drinks, the Ketel One Botanical spirits contain 82 calories per serve (50ml measure, with 150ml soda), and are intended to cater to drinkers looking for lower calorie and ABV Summer refreshment.
Ketel One Botanical currently consists of three varieties:
- Peach & Orange Blossom: “with bold notes of fragrant orange blossoms”
- Botanical Cucumber & Mint: “conveying crisp and light tones of fresh garden mint”
- Botanical Grapefruit & Rose: “a zesty variant with refined hints of rose petal flavours”
The Botanical range starts life as Ketel One Vodka, which is then infused with fruit essences and botanicals. Bob Nolet, master distiller at the Nolet Distillery that produces Ketel One, says of the new spirit: “As it becomes clear that consumers want better drinking options, Ketel One Botanical and the Ketel One Spritz offer a thoughtful choice for consumers looking for something new from their summer serve. It is the perfect alternative calorie-conscious addition to lower ABV cocktail menus.”
Ketel One Botanical will be available to the on-trade from mid-March 2019
