Jubjub Does Cantina de Cuervo

The second instalment of the new look Jubjub bar kicks off this week, with Jose Cuervo Tequila taking charge.

Last month saw the members bar Jubjub, located above industry favourite Callooh Callay, change tack and become an ‘experiential, transformational’ space for brands to get involved in. The first incarnation was an Absinthe and Oysters Parisian Absinthe Houseand now it’s time to get all Mexican.

Opening on Tuesday 9th April the Cantina de Cuervo will be hosting a series of Mexican inspired events over a 6 week period to bring a little of the Jose Cuervo Tequila magic to East London.

We can personally attest to the fact the design, based around a traditional Mexican Cantina, looks amazing (we had a little sneak preview over the weekend) and you know when the bar behind the World’s Best Cocktail Menu* is involved the drinks will be fantastic. On that note we can bring you some exciting news.

The theme will change each week (a full look at the schedule is below) and on May 7th a week celebrating Jose Cuervo and Callooh Callay’s favourite Margarita recipes will be kicking off and we are offering you the opportunity to get your Margarita recipe included.

That’s right folks, this is your chance to have your cocktail served in one the world’s most loved and respected cocktail bars. To enter simply e-mail Callooh Callay’s own Andrea Montague at andrea@calloohcallaybar.com with your recipe and the best will be picked out and put on the menu for the week of the 7th May (ohhh you might want to make sure the recipe includes one of the Cuervo range!). Last drinks will be accepted until the end of the month with the winning drink being announced on 3rd May.

So get yourself down to Cantina de Cuervo at Callooh Callay over the next 6 weeks for some great cocktails (including a Jose Cuervo Slushy) and some Mexican street food. We’ll see you there.

April 23rd – April 27th
Luchador vs Cantina de Cuervo. It’s on like Donkey Kong.

30th April – May 4th
Cinco de Mayo Week ‘cos one night just ain’t enough. We’ll be spending this week celebrating one of the biggest Mexican holidays on the year.

May 5th
Cantina de Cuervo will be taking over Callooh Callay for a full blown Mexican Fiesta with enough piñatas to shake a stick at and a mariachi band thrown in for good measure.

May 7th – May 11th
A menu of our favourite Margarita recipes.

May 14th – May 18th
It’s over, amigos. This week we’ll be mourning The Death of the Cantina as all good Mexicans do – with a party. Think Dia de Los Muertos, but in May.
