James Bowker Appointed House of Suntory UK Ambassador

Edrington-Beam Suntory UK today announced that Birmingham’s James Bowker is to become House of Suntory’s first UK brand ambassador

Fans of Japanese distilling will be interested to learn that House of Suntory have appointed their first UK brand ambassador, in the form of James Bowker.

Having spent time in Japan working as an apprentice at Bar High Five in Tokyo, along with a stint as head bartender at The Edgebaston Hotel in Birmingham (which has a collection of over 60 Japanese whiskies), Bowker would seem an idea choice for the gig. His remit will included the usual ambassadorial duties across the House of Suntory trilogy: Roku (Japanese Craft Gin), Toki (Japanese Whisky) and Haku (Japanese Vodka).

Bowker says of his new job: “I’ve always had a passion for spirits and grew very fond of The House of Suntory whisky portfolio during my early days behind the bar. I can’t wait to become the face of The House of Suntory in the UK, building strong partnerships with bartenders and venues across the country to broaden the appeal for Japanese spirits, serves and the brands’ founding principles for continued perfection.”
