Celebrating a return to their spiritual home and the opening of a new distillery in South West London, Hayman’s Gin have announced the inaugural True Taste Competition.
The Hayman’s Gin True Taste Competition invites bartenders to compete for a truly brilliant prize: a 5 day distilling apprenticeship under Master Distiller Christopher Hayman and his team. The winning bartender will get hands-on experience of every single element of the production process, from botanical testing in the lab, loading and charging the stills, all the way through to quality testing and bottling. The winner will also work to develop their own signature Limited Edition Hayman’s Gin which will go on sale.
How to Enter
To enter the The Hayman’s Gin True Taste Competition, create a cocktail inspired by great moments in England’s past whilst looking towards the future. Think of inspiring moments in England’s history, groundbreaking inventions, innovations or achievements, or even great English personalities.
Your drink must use a minimum of 35mls of Hayman’s London Dry Gin
You may use up to six ingredients, not including garnish.
Homemade ingredients are allowed and any style of serve is welcome including sharing serves.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
Taste and Balance
Explanation of your recipe choices and methodology
You can go in whatever direction takes your fancy, exploring new techniques and flavour combinations, as long as there’s a link to good ol’ England.
