Goodbye Wax Jambu, Hello Wax’s Hogo Shake Up

An exciting new pop-up bar is opening in London, Wax’s Hogo Shake Up will be bringing you lovely drinks and weekly tastings, competitions and samplings.

Last month saw a sad day on the London bar calendar when, after 4 years, Wax Jambu shut it’s doors. Don’t cry though our delicate little readers we bring you good news.

Wax Jambu isn’t gone, it is just evolving. They have many plans afoot starting off with this new pop-up bar, Wax’s Hogo Shake Up.

The bar, running for 8 weeks, is located upstairs at The William IV pub in between Old Street and Angel. BarLifeUK happened to go to a Christmas do there run by Wax Jambu boss man Jimi Pearce a couple of months ago and we have no doubt the team have got some great ideas for it.

As well as continuing the Wax Jambu tradition of serving up yummy drinks (with a slightly larger whiskey and bourbon influence than before) they will be hosting a series of great looking events. A list of their plans for the first month can be found below.

Jimi Pearce had a few words on this exciting new adventure:

‘Time for a fresh challenge, and the Hogo Shake Up is just the first unique stepping-stone of experiences for all to enjoy en route to our new venue. Make sure you stop by to this first instalment to enjoy a contemporary, premium drinking experience with all the Wax Jambu ethos you enjoyed in the beginning.’
