Liverpool bar’s team video scoops £4k equipment prize
A couple of months ago, Chivas challenged bars to create a video that demonstrated their team’s spirit. The winning clip would receive a prize the like of which we at BarLifeUK haven’t seen before – £4,000 to spend on bespoke bar kit.
Entries came in from all over the UK, demonstrating not only the depth of creativity outside of knocking out drinks that lurks under the surface of the bar industry, but also what can be achieved with just an iPhone and a few apps. Some of the videos were seriously impressive.
Chivas ambassador Philip Huckle took time out from his more established online video viewing habits, and cast a judge’s eye over the clips, and proclaimed Liverpool bar, Filter & Fox’s the most impressive of the lot. He announced his decision on Facebook thusly:
“After much deliberation between the judges, I am happy to announce that the winners of the Chivas Team Spirit competition are the team at Filter+Fox! Overall they displayed great team spirit, created an amazing drink, showed the most creativity and the video managed to get 100 shares & over 3000 views.Great job guys – well done.”
We spoke to Owain Williams, owner-bartender at Filter+Fox, and asked him why the team had entered the comp, and what they planned to do with the prize:
“We have a really small team here at Filter+Fox so there’s a real emphasis on our team spirit and the atmosphere it creates in the bar. So naturally when we saw a competition focussing on team spirit we knew we had to get involved!
We set up Filter+Fox on a very tight bartenders budget so we’re hoping to spend our winnings on a brand new bespoke station to make it more efficient for our team! Its either that or a Hummer.”
