To enter you will be asked to complete a number of rounds. Firstly you must enter a cocktail recipe containing a minimum of ½ oz (15ml) Bols Liqueurs and/or 1 oz (30ml) Bols Genever. These will be judged for harmony and balance before the best bartenders in each country will move onto round two.

This sees you completing an online 40 question exam covering a wide range of topics from the history of distilling to influential cocktail personalities and coffee. The top bartenders will be allowed to compete in their countries final challenge.

Lastly it’s time to get your Hollywood on as you create a short video of yourself presenting your cocktail. From here the top 16 in the world (plus four young bartenders under the age of 22) will be heading to Amsterdam on 2nd May for the semi-final.

After several days of challenges the final 12 will compete in the Grand Final on 7th May. The judging panel for the final is one of the best assembled consisting of Anistatia Miller, Jared Brown, Hidetsugo Ueno, Jeff Beachbum Berry, Ago Perrone and last year’s winner Gabor Onufer.

The losing eleven finalists don’t go away empty handed though with them each receiving a one year Gold Bols Ambassadorship, including a trip to Amsterdam and an honorary contract to represent Bols in their home country. They will also all receive a Bols Around the World National Champions Trophy and a Limited Edition Bols Barrel Aged Genever, signed by Lucas Bols Master Distiller, Piet Leijenhorst.

As you can see this is a superb competition to enter with a fantastic prize and a huge amount of experience to be gained.
