Andy Huntley has joined Diageo Reserve as GB brand ambassador for Copper Dog Whisky
Originally from South Wales, Andy Huntley began his hospitality career as a bar back Down Under (as, it seems, did most of the newer Reserve ambassadors). The following 18 years saw him work for Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands, and William Grant & Sons, before joining the Diageo Reserve team.
For the uninitiated, Copper Dog is a blend of eight Speyside single malts, named for a device constructed with copper tubing, a cork, and a soldered penny, and used by distillery workers to smuggle whisky home in the 19th century. The blend is designed to be enjoyed neat, with water, mixed with cola, or in a cocktail
Huntley says of his new gig: “I’m thrilled about my appointment as Brand Ambassador for Copper Dog whisky. I’m a big fan, I love the versatility of the liquid and it’s a huge privilege for me to be at the forefront of a brand that has such a unique backstory, so much character and that is pushing boundaries and supporting both the bar and the music industry like it is. I can’t wait to begin my journey in the role.”
