Community Spirit Returns At London Cocktail Week

After the success of the 2017 Grenfell Tower fundraising event, Community Spirit is back to do good things.

After the 2017 Grenfell Tower tragedy the Hospitality Community got together and created Community Spirit as a way for bartenders and spirit brands to help raise money for the victims and their families.

Community Spirit held a one-day event in June 2017, which also raised money for the youth clubs that offered shelter to victims, as well as the London Firefighter charity.

This year Community Spirit is coming to The London Cocktail Village and will be rounding up some of London’s best bartenders again to help charities that combat issues affecting the community and our industry. They will be donating 100% of profits to Mind (Mental Health), a “Good Night Out” a campaign that’s on a mission to end sexual harassment in venues, bars, clubs, pubs and festivals across the world and The Benevolent, The Drinks Industry Charity.

The bar will be from Wednesday 9th – Sunday 13th from Midday until 11pm (apart from Sunday when it will shut at 7pm).

The bar will have some of London’s best and most notorious bar characters donating their time behind the stick/stocks making drinks and raising awareness at the LCW Cocktail Village, with all drink sales profits going to charity.

On top of this there are a couple of cocktail competitions going on:

Thursday 10th from 12 – 6pm sees The Chambord Cocktail Competition taking place. Brown Forman have generously agreed to double all entry donations and have donated a fancy spa day prize to help get rid of all of those LCW aches and pains.

Friday 11th from 12 – 6pm is The Sustainable Daiquiri Competition with Plantation Rum and Supasawa.

Entry to both is £5 and all you have to do is turn up and get involved.

There are plenty of other activities going on including a tombola with a load of prizes up for grabs. Sophie Bratt is also there on Sunday making a trio of Bloody Bratt’s (a green one, a classic on and a beetroot one) to help you get through the final day.

Oh and to help things get going BarLifeUK will be behind the bar on Wednesday between 6pm and 7pm for your entertainment!

Head on down to The Cocktail Village (146 Brick Lane, London, E1 6RU) and if you haven’t already got a trade pass they can be applied for here.
