Cocktails in the City Manchester 2012

On April 4th the Great Hall at Manchester Town Hall will see 19 bars and 400 cocktail enthusiasts celebrating Manchester’s vibrant cocktail scene.

Following on from the success of the concept from last year, Andrew Scutts is bringing Cocktails in the City back on an even grander scale. Running the day after Boutique Bar Show Manchester, Cocktails in the City is the only dedicated Cocktail Show for consumers in the UK.

It is bringing together some of the cities leading cocktail bars including Socio Rehab, The Liars Club, Blackdog Ballroom and Harvey Nichols for an evening of cocktail making and drinks enlightenment. Visitors to the show will learn how to shake, muddle and stir cutting edge cocktails under the expert guidance of the cities (and indeed the worlds) leading bartenders.

Andrew had this to say: ‘This show reflects the increasing trend and popularity of cocktail culture and the fact Manchester has a world leading cocktail bar scene. This event is a unique opportunity to discover all Manchester’s top bars under one roof and learn the skilful art of cocktail making’

The show will run from 5:30pm to 10:00pm with visitors being charged £18 to attend which will give them three tokens to exchange for a cocktail. The unique twist here is that they themselves will make the drink under the expert tuition of the city’s top bartenders. They’ll also be competitions, demonstrations on the main stage and private tutored tasting sessions with local drink experts The Liquorists.

Tickets will be available on http://www.cocktailsinthecity.co.uk/ late February
