Cocktails in the City Trade Session: 12-4pm, Friday 23rd July, Bedford Square Gardens, London, WC1B 3ES
If you are in London this Friday afternoon and fancy a couple of pre-shift drinks, then Cocktails In The City have you covered. This is the second Cocktails In The City since the UK began to reopen and having visited the first a few weeks ago I can attest to it being a great way to catch up with people you haven’t seen for a while and have a couple or three delicious drinks. And the weather gods appear to be looking favorably upon Friday afternoon…
Tickets for the event are booked on a donation basis, so just give what you can afford for your ticket, with the money going to the Drinks Trust. The event is once again at the very lovely (and very outside for anyone avoiding indoor events) Bedford Square Gardens, which is centrally located between Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road tube stations.
Once there you will be able to enjoy drinks from some of London’s top bars including:
Bourne & Hollingsworth, Cafe Pacifico, Callooh Callay, Electric Shuffle, The Hide Bar, Funkidory, Kosmopol, Laki Kane, London Cocktail Club, Oriole, Murder Inc, Nightjar, Swift, ThreeAfter3, The Coral Room, Terroir Tapas, Trader Vics & TT Liquor.
To tempt you even more there will be the chance to try Amaro Santoni by a couple of young upstarts by the names of Simone Corporale and Luca Missaglia. Also on show will be Chinatang’s Giulio Amodio creation MZero which won World’s Best Bitters at the World Bitter Awards 2021, he will also be showcasing Ryukyu1429 Awamori from Okinawa, Japan.
As well as lovely booze there is a series of talks in association with The Drinks Trust aimed squarely at you industry bartending folk which look an awful lot like this:
1pm Curious minds and cocktail creation
Where do some of the most curious and creative cocktail makers get their inspiration? From looking outside of drinks to explaining their process and how they have grown their profile, we speak to some of the finest.
2pm A tribute to Tomas Estes
2021 marked the passing of one of the influential and highly regarded individuals in the history of spirits. Tomas Estes was a global ambassador for the agave industry for over 50 years and through his brands of Café Pacifico and Tequila Ocho millions of consumers and thousands of bartenders have discovered the joys of Mexican food and drink. Led by Carlos Londono
There is also the chance to explore the art of sustainable cocktail making through masterclasses on how to upcycle household ingredients into sustainable garnishes and syrups. Cocktails in the City will also be hosting a planet positive bar with two carbon positive brands Avallen and Arbikie Nadar working in partnership with Terrior Tapas.
