Campari UK Employees Make Personal Donation To The Drinks Trust

Staff from Campari UK donated more than £16,000 to The Drinks Trust which was matched by the company to give a total of over £32K.

The latest drinks company to donate money to help the UK hospitality Industry during the coronavirus pandemic is Campari UK. What made this one stand-out to BarLifeUK is that it was instigated by the 60 employees themselves who dug into their own pockets to support those in need.

Once the bosses found out about the initiative they decided to match the total their employees had raised to help provide urgent care, support and assistance to those working in the drinks industry through The Drinks Trust. This is part of the company’s global initiative, Shaken not Broken, which recently donated $1,000,000 to the US charity fund Another Round Another Rally.

We’ll leave you with the traditional quotes from those involved, whilst we track down the Campari brands in our cupboard and raise a glass to the generosity of the UK Campari team:

Brad Madigan, Managing Director, Campari UK, says“We as a business were moved by the team’s personal fundraising effort, and there was no question that we had to match this for The Drinks Trust – which is doing such valuable work with those hit hardest in these uncertain times.

“No one could have predicted the situation we find ourselves in today as a global community, as a country, and as an industry. What is important now more than ever is to pull together and support one another, so we come out the other side stronger and more resilient.”

Ross Carter, Chief Executive, The Drinks Trust UK, says“The impact of COVID-19 on the drinks industry will be felt for years to come. As the drinks sector’s charity, we are doing all we can to support our employees who ask for help, but we can do more and reach more people, with donations from our partners like Campari UK.”
