Boutique Bar Show will set up a small but perfectly formed camp in Spitalfields this month.

Taking residency in converted stable opposite the market, the show offers its usual mix of brands to try, talks to learn from and cocktails to drink, with a few new, special treats.

On the sampling front, there will be over 100 brands to try, including new launches such as La Hora Azul Tequila, Larsen Winter Blend Cognac and Silent Pool Wry Vodka.

Boutique’s seminars and talks have always been a big draw, and this year’s programme looks suitably engaging. Highlights include:

Oriole – How to open the World’s Best New Bar
The Punch Room at Edition Hotel – Modern Punch
The Clumsies (Athens) – Blending a laboratory-inspired menu with a high volume bar

We are particularly pleased to see the addition of a new feature – the Signature Serves Bar. This brings some great bars from around the UK to the capital, so that London folk who don’t get to travel much can see what their contemporaries are up to. At the Signature Serves Bar, you will find bartenders from the following joints doing their thing:

Red Light – Bristol
The Mavern – Leeds
Science and Industry – Manchester
Berry and Rye – Liverpool
The Plotting Shed – Brighton
Black Rock Whisky Bar – London
Hawksmoor Spitalifields – London

And, perhaps the best news of all – Casita, industry favourite and, according to Jake Burger, the UK’s only proper dive bar, closed its shed doors for the last time last month. She will be sorely missed, so it’s great news that an All Star Cast (scumbags all) will be taking over one of Boutique Bar Show’s bars for a Casita pop-up, which is bound to be a restrained, dignified affair.
