Nigh Time Industries Association call for bar operator and manager ‘pingdemic’ survey input
The current (but hopefully waning) wave of Covid infections has caused a surge in the number of people receiving possible virus exposure alerts from the NHS test and trace app. This avalanche of ‘pings’ has forced ever-increasing numbers of people into self isolation, causing significant staffing issues for many sectors, and given that hospitality workers are public-facing and in large part young, and therefore likely to have had just one dose of the vaccine, our industry has been particularly vulnerable to this ‘pingdemic’.
The Night Time Industries Association are gathering data on the situation so that sector-specific advice can be given to ministers, and the organisation has called for input from employers and managers by way of a short survey, which takes about 1 minute to complete.
