Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition Open for Entries

Your chance to add to Bacardi’s Legacy of classic cocktails starts here

The Bacardi Legacy trophy currently resides here in the UK, courtesy of a stirling effort by the American Bar’s Tom Walker.

With entries now open for the next iteration of the competition, you have the chance to make sure it stays in the UK, following the global final in May next year.

The Legacy competition is all about creating a new cocktail which can sit comfortably alongside Bacardi’s other classics, such as the Daiquiri and Cuba Libre.

Creating a recipe which is elegant and simple yet memorable is no easy task, which is one of the things that makes this competition so fascinating to observe.

Entry details – Deadline August 11, 2014

There is a wealth of information to be found at www.bacardilegacy.com, and you should absorb as much as possible before beginning the process of creating your recipe.

Once your cocktail is ready, you can submit it to the Legacy team here: bacardilegacy@bacardi.com

Regional heats will take place in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Belfast ad Bristol between the 17-27th of August this year, with the National final held on September 25th.

As in previous years, the top three competitors, or Three Most Promising, will then embark on a six month journey that starts at the Bacardi Distillery in Mexico and Family Archives in Miami, and will involve marketing and promoting their drinks for final assessment.

This six month period will go towards selecting the ultimate UK winner who will go on to represent the UK, and hopefully retain the title, at the Global Final taking place in May 2015.
