Bacardí Launch New Bottle Design

For the first time in over a decade Bacardí Rum have unveiled new bottle and label designs.

Bacardí had a busy year in 2014 with the launch of the Bacardí Untameable campaign, a UK winner of their Bacardí Legacy competition in the form of Tom Walker, one hell of a party in Puerto Rico and getting one step closer to returning home thanks to new relationships between the US and Cuba.BACARDI Carta Range

It looks like they are not going to be resting on their laurels in 2015 either with the launch of their new look bottle and labels.

Whilst the glass used in the bottle remains the same the shape has changed to a slimmer and taller design with the aim to be easier for bartenders to handle, the bottle also has improved weight distribution again aimed firmly at those behind the stick.

The biggest changes however come with the names for the portfolio of rums. Returning to their original Spanish names Superior, Gold and Black become Carta Blanca, Carta Oro and Carta Negra respectively. The labels (printed on recycled cane fibres, a by-product of rum making – very environmentally friendly of them) also feature images telling the brief story of the history of the Bacardí family.

With the bottle being designed with bartenders front of mind it was no surprise to find out they were influential in its development as Bacardí Global Advocacy Director, Jacob Briars explained:

‘The unique taste of Bacardí rum inspired cocktail pioneers to invent some of the world’s most famous recipes including the Bacardí Mojito and the Bacardí Cuba Libre. The brand is built in bars around the world, by the world’s best bartenders, so naturally we turned to top bartenders to design a bottle that met their needs,’

The new bottles will be available to order for the on-trade from April but we have heard that a few bottles have been delivered around the country by a certain Bacardí Ambassador so keep your eyes peeled if you want to check them out before then.

Bacardí are so excited about this new design they have even put together a little film featuring Bacardí Maestro de Ron, Juan Piñera and the omnipresent Steve Schneider along with a couple of other familiar faces.
