2014 RumFest Launched & Mauritius Rum Festival Arrives

The RumFest 2014 is going to have even more for bartenders with Rum Experience University On The Road and the return of Boutique RumFest alongside the main event.

To mark the new look trade element the show has also moved location to London’s ILEC (located near Earls Court).

Friday 10th October will see press & industry invited to a carefully curated rum experience that’s never been seen before. Featuring “Rum Experience University On The Road” during the day Ian Burrell will be bringing a bite-size taste of his University from Spain here to the UK.

Attendees will be able to get a taste of the four-day intensive course, which takes place on the Andalusian coastline and has become the one-stop-resource for rum professionals and enthusiasts searching for a quality rum education.

In the evening “Boutique RumFest” will open its doors, where press and VIPs (or bartenders as they’re otherwise known) are invited to a very special private event, which provides a valuable platform for new rum brands and celebrates the industry’s emerging talent.

Then we get to the main event on the Saturday and Sunday (11th & 12th October) with RumFest which is now in its 7th year. With an expected 400 plus blends from around the world to taste as well as the usual seminars, master classes and workshops.

If all of that wasn’t enough there is also the introduction of the Golden Tot Tickets. At £5, each of these special tickets gives you the opportunity to try rums valued between £80-£100 (there will also be even more expensive rums available for additional tokens).

Tickets to the event are now on sale at the RumFest website here for £49.95 which allows access to all areas of the show and tastings.

Mauritius Rum Festival

If you can’t wait until October to get your rum fix then Ian has you covered. He is helping the Mauritius Rum Festival make its first appearance in the UK in April.

Mauritius is home to seven rum distilleries and it is rums from them that will be celebrated at the Emirates Stadium on 3rd & 4th April.

The show will feature Litchquor, a luxurious and elegant rum; Rhumerie de Chamarel, created from exclusively selected sugar canes to enhance flavour; and Les Colinieres Ltd, unique in taste due to the carefully selected ingredients. All will be inviting the industry to sip, savour and appreciate their quality blends discovering why these brands are making their move within the market.
