Over the next 3 weeks the educational roadshow will be coming to a city near you.
Now in it’s 9th year Diageo Reserve’s World Class Competition is back. If you are not aware of it, World Class is a huge global competition with bartenders from over 50 countries battling it out over series of challenges to test every aspect of bartending.
As part of the push to find the UK representative, who will be picking up the baton from last years winner Aidan Bowie, they have announced a nationwide roadshow running through November and December.
The one day sessions will cover three main topics:
The Art of Blending – Looking at the art of the whisky blender, where attendees will get to recreate Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve during the session. Led by a selection of Diageo Reserve’s Whisky Ambassadors.
Business of Bars & Remarkable by Design – Tim Homewood will be on hand to educate bartenders on the skills needed to manage and own a bar, as well as what it takes to become an ambassador for a spirit’s company. He will also take insight from the top 1% of bars in the world and what it takes to go from great to remarkable.
Future Trends – Looking at the 5 key future trends in the bar industry to give attendees an edge over their competition. Dan Dove will also be sharing insights from the 2016 Diageo Reserve’s Future Trends Report.
The sessions will be running from 10:30am – 2:30pm in the following cities, on the following days:
- Manchester, Cloud 23 – 14th November
- Leeds, Head Row House – 15th November
- Liverpool, The Old Blind School – 16th November

The sessions will not only give you the opportunity to learn from amazing trainers and get hands on with the blending but will also give you a leg up, and some inspiration, for this years World Class Competition. Dan, Tim and the rest of the Reserve team on hand will be there to answer questions and no doubt will be handing out some tips. You also get to hang about with 49 other bartenders for a day, which is always good fun.
In other words get involved, we certainly will be. Email now to book your place and enjoy.
