Bacardi’s epic global competition reaches its climax in San Franciso
The eighth Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition concluded on April 24th, in San Francisio, USA.
However, this was not to be, as Gn Chan from America’s Angel’s Share beat the other 36 finalists from around the world (and cruise ships), to walk away with the prize.
Bacardi’s global ambassador, Dickie Cullimore describes the result: “Gn is a popular and worthy winner tonight; he’s impressed not only with a delicious drink and compelling story, but also with his consistency throughout the competition. Venceremos is a drink that people will enjoy all over the world and has all the makings of a modern classic.”
We would normally follow this news item with a misty-eyed and hungover report on the grand final and the days leading up to it. However, this year we can’t, because we weren’t there. So, you’ll have to wait for our esteemed colleagues in the press to post something that won’t be as good as the story we would have written.
In the mean time, you can knock up Gn Chan’s drink in your bar and see what you think (whilst wondering why the Americans persist with this ‘parts’ nonsense):

- 1 part Coconut liqueur
- ⅚ part Pineapple juice
