Funkin have spiced up their single batch syrup range by adding Funkin Pro Spiced Syrup to the mix. *insert some sort of Spice Up Your Life, Spice Girl joke*
This rich infusion of nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom and cloves is sweetened with cane sugar and crafted from the finest natural ingredients. Designed by bartenders for bartenders, it has already been approved by the trade and is perfect to use in a wide range of cocktails.
After talking to some of the industry’s big dogs including Vlad Marc of The Ivy, Michele Mariotti of the Savoy and Andy Mil from Cocktail Trading Company, it became clear that with the new bars popping up daily, consumers who are new to cocktail scene are getting far more adventurous with their drink flavour choices.
Herbal, bitter, and smoked cocktails are now just as popular as the sweet and fruity safe choices. Hearing this, Funkin saw a clear gap in the market and ran with it, creating this tasty spicy syrup of goodness, ready to give a little oomph to your cocktails, come September.
The single batch range is looking pretty damn good, with Rhubarb, Ginger, Earl Grey and now Spiced under it’s belt.
They suggest this serve but I’m sure you guys will come up with your own serves:
5ml cinnamon vodka
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lemon
25ml Funkin Pro Spiced Syrup
50ml cloudy apple juice
Shake ingredients and strain into a highball. Garnish with a lemon twist and mint sprig.
