Marvel hosts the London heat of’s, UK Molecular Bartender Competition in Association with El Dorado Rum.

On the 14th July new Chelsea bar Marvel are hosting the London heat of the inaugural UK Molecular Bartender Competition.

Competitors from London and across the south of the UK will bring this major element of modern bartending to the fore with creations and concoctions using texturisers and  finest El Dorado Rum.

Each competitor will be creating two drinks, one must contain one of the selected texturisers; agar, sodium alginate, calcium lactate, xanthan gum, methyl cellulose, and kappa carrageenan and rum from the El Dorado range of 3, 5, 8, 12 and 15 year old. The other drink is left entirely to the creativity of the bartender.

Further heats in August in Leeds, and October in Edinburgh will proceed the grand final in early 2011.

The prize is a once in a lifetime day out with industry experts with top food and drink to boot.
